Work With Me

Interested in working with me?

Here's how to get started:

1. Decide if you want therapy or Life Coaching.

Sometimes therapy is the best fit, and some clients who seek out therapy actually want more concrete guidance to problem-solve life + business struggles.

Making the correct choice for you up-front can save you valuable time and get you faster results. To help yourself do that, give this blog post about Therapy vs. Coaching a quick read.

2. Schedule an Intake Appointment

If therapy is the right choice, go ahead and schedule an initial intake appointment through my online portal.  If you have a co-pay or deductible, it will be due at this appointment.

If you prefer Life Coaching, please send me an e-mail to schedule a consult. (note: Life Coaching is NOT covered by insurance).

Please note: I work virtually Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays so any appointments scheduled on those days + times will automatically be virtual.

3. Confirm Your Appointment

Watch your inbox or cellphone for a confirmation message from me 48 hours before your scheduled appointment.  Please reply to that message to confirm.

4. Meet for Your Appointment

At the scheduled time of your appointment, we’ll meet. We’ll use this time to make sure we’re the perfect fit before you commit to working together long-term.

If you are meeting for psychotherapy services and using insurance, make sure you check your card for the cost of your co-pay or contracted rate that is part of your deductible (it’s generally considered a “specialist” visit or “behavioral health” visit). Your co-pay will be due at this initial meeting.

5. Moving Forward

If you decide to work with me long-term, we’ll begin setting goals!  I’ll share with you the exact steps for getting started and will make initial suggestions based on what I’ve learned about you.

If you decide not to work with me or if we aren’t a perfect fit, I’ll be happy to share other resources to help you move forward.

Insurances accepted

I currently accept the following insurances for those requesting psychotherapy services in Rhode Island:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

Your co-pay will vary based on your exact insurance plan.  If you have questions about your co-pay, please contact your insurance company.  Some insurance companies charge therapy co-pays as a “specialist” visit, while others offer discounted co-pay rates for visits to behavioral health providers.

Out-of-pocket fees

If I do not accept your insurance and you are interested in self-paying, my rates are below:

  • Intake Session(s): $225/session (50 minutes)

  • Continuing Sessions: $195/session (50 minutes)

  • Sliding Scale: A sliding scale of $150 - $195 is offered to clients who are in need of a reduced fee to receive therapy.

I can provide you with paperwork for reimbursement from your insurance company if you are seeking out-of-network counseling sessions, and in some cases can even submit your claims directly to your insurance as a courtesy.
